National World War II Museum - U.S. Freedom Pavilion (The Boeing Center)

U.S. Freedom Pavilion is the second of four structures to be built at the National World War II Museum in New Orleans. It stands tallest at 100 feet, allowing it to display various airplane and war artifacts dramatically. The versatility of precast allowed for increased open space inside the building, eliminating the need for columns and obstructions. The building's unique geometry features sloping facades consisting of a series of horizontal precast concrete panels created from repeating configurations of trapezoids and parallelograms. The panels are designed with an as-cast appearance and without a single 90-degree angle, with horizontal joints aligned but tapering and vertical joints running diagonally.
