Design Assistance
This five-story, 459-bed, 160,000 SF mixed-use facility serves as a residence hall and has classrooms and office space on the first floor. GATE uses 3D modeling on all of its hollowcore plank projects to prepare shop drawings. Compared to alternative types of construction, hollowcore planks provided a floor system capable of long spans and design flexibility with a reduced cross-section. Due to its urban location, this project was constructed on an extremely tight site which required detailed coordination between GATE and the contractor to enable crane and truck access. GATE met an extremely aggressive submittal and delivery schedule.
