NASA Causeway Bridge

NASA Causeway Bridge

Work is underway on the new NASA Causeway Bridge. The bridge is being constructed over the Indian River, a lagoon composed of mixed sand and gravel at its base, making precast concrete pile an excellent choice for its foundation.

Produced by our Jacksonville facility, the 168’ long pile is the longest produced by the facility to date and was delivered by barge directly from the plant. The facility has direct access to waterways, making it possible to deliver the pile from the facility directly to the jobsite and eliminating the need for additional transportation.

Pile is a cost-effective way to create a durable, long-lasting structure. It has a high load-bearing capacity, which is critical for the high-use structure, and it will provide the strength and support needed to stabilize the bridge in the underwater environment.
