Precast is an integral and necessary component of DC Blox, a 2-story, 31,000 SF flagship data center in Birmingham, AL. Designed to withstand 150 mph winds and meet blast-resistant security standards, the building conveys strength and security, with precast serving as the primary structure and focal building component.
It’s all necessary to defend a fully protected private network and 5MW of customer capacity, along with conference rooms, demo space, hoteling cubes and workstations.
“The finished product serves a very attractive, modern design that fully portrays the client’s dedication to security and dependability and that will be durable for many years to come.”

Multiple planes were designed for the precast façade to create a contemporary welcome to this flagship data center campus. Inside, the precast walls, undersides of interior precast floors and roof were left exposed to maintain an industrial theme.
“The precast construction provided structural strength to spare to accommodate future growth both up and out.”
