Omni Hotel & Residence

Omni Hotel & Residence

The 30-story, hotel is located in the heart of Louisville’s booming entertainment and retail complex and is one block from Kentucky International Convention Center.

The 1.2 million square foot hotel is designed with intersecting towers that represent the crossroads of the past, present and future of its city. The hotel is the city’s tallest and is inspired by the city’s rich history and authentic character.

The hotel features 612 rooms, 225 residences and 70,000 square feet of meeting and event space. With its close proximity to a major convention center, group attendees also have access to an additional 300,000 square foot of meeting and exhibit space.

Architectural precast was selected for the façade of the new hotel due to a successful project with GATE Precast on the OMNI hotel in Nashville, which was also designed by HKS, Inc. Precast concrete allowed the use of larger panel sizes, which minimized the number of joints and accelerated the installation time. In addition, precast offered the ability to create the rich color and texture variations required to match the neighboring historic structures.

The main finish was a dark charcoal color with a very deep acid-wash texture. The accent color above the windows was a light grey with a light acid-wash texture. Both finishes used a glitter sand, which sparkles when the sun hits it.

Every aspect of the hotel was curated carefully to reflect the city’s culture and personality bringing life back to a long-dormant block.
