The Bryant Tower, NYC, NY

@gateprecastco had the pleasure of working directly with David Chipperfield Architects, HFZ Capital Group, and Stonehill Taylor in a design-assist partnership during the development of design for The Bryant tripartite tower, located in New York City, NY. Architectural precast was chosen for the exterior façade system after careful consideration and adhering to the conditions of the historic neighborhood’s Landmarks Preservation Commission. Through the design-assist process, GATE’s Oxford, NC facility successfully achieved the desired terrazzo appearance that features atypically large white marble aggregate, small quartz aggregate, and limestone chips in various colors with a unique GATEstone polished finish. “Critical to the job was the ability to provide a polished finish on the face as well as on the returns and keep the same consistent finish around the corner,” says Doug Flory, Capitol Region Rep. Architectural Sales, GATE Precast. The façade with its grid-like pattern “infiltrates the interior, creating a dialogue between indoors and outdoors. Exterior columns are expressed inside the units, separated only by slim-profile, floor-to-ceiling windows” creating panoramic views of the Manhattan skyline. The Bryant is the first-ever residential condominium built on Bryant Park and the first ground-up residential tower in the U.S. designed by David Chipperfield Architects. GATE humbly thanks David Chipperfield Architects, Stonehill Taylor, Severud Associates, Consigli Construction Co., Inc. (formerly T.G. Nickel), EE Marr Erectors, InfraStructure, LLC, HFZ Capital Group, and Masterworks Development Corporation for collaborating with us on this renowned project.
